Q: What should I do if my robot stops during the scan?
A: If you can start the robot immediately after it stops, you can continue scanning your field. If the robot is interrupted for any reason for more than 15 minutes, please restart and try scanning your field again.
Q: How do I get started scanning my field?
A: Find a thorough guide here: How to use the Elevation Map feature?
Or follow these steps:
- Go to “+ New Field”
- Go to “Grid Templates”
- Select Coverage Standard and select Multiple points > Create field.
- Collect points around the boundary of your field. Drive the robot to e.g. the home plate or a corner and start here, press Collect to set points on the boundary.
To create a curve on the intersection line between grass and dirt or at the fence line you’ll have to collect +10 points.
4 points needs to be collected for e.g. a soccer field (on in each corner)
- Save field
- Select the field and go to “Modify” > “Edit” > “Advanced” and make sure line spacing is set to 10 ft (3 meters)
- Make all lines to robot paths (pink lines) by tapping on all the individual lines, then the robot wont spray while scanning the field.
- Press “OK” and “Save”
- Select the field you want to scan by tapping it and press “Start”.
- The robot will now start scanning your field
- IMPORTANT: Note time for when scanning starts and stops. It needs to be filled into the form on the landing page.
- Don’t have the robot turned on for more than 4 hours between the scan and your booked time for getting the files handed over to TMR. You can still paint and operate the robot within these 4 hours.
- When the scan is done go to “https://tinymobilerobots.com/elevation-mapping/” as soon as possible, follow the instructions on the webpage to order your report, book a time for getting the scan downloaded and handed over to TMR.
Q: When should I book a timeslot for handing over my field data?
A: After you have scanned your field with the robot you should book a time (here) before your robot has been on for 4 hours. You can still use your robot, but if the robot has been on for more than 4 hours there is a risk of the data being overwrited, which means the scanning process needs to be done over again.
Q: Can I order a field analysis report before scanning my field?
A: No, you can not order a field analysis report before you have scanned your field. This is because we need to know exactly when the scan has taken place, start and end time of the scan, and we need to know when you can have your robot online to handover the data.
Q: How does TinyMobileRobots get the data from my field?
A: After you have scanned your field (see how to here) you need to book a time where your robot can be online, in this time you need to have your robot connected to WIFI or a hotspot thus the data transaction will be faster and smoother. Depending on how big of a field you need to get analyzed expect it to take between 30-60 min.
Q: When I already collected points in the past, can I use these for the Elevation Map? Or do I have to collect new ones?
A: You can use points that have already been collected if they border the field you want to scan again. There’s no need to create new points each time, provided they cover the same area.
Q: Can I hide the coverage template without deleting it?
A: You can disable the grid templates, especially the Coverage Standard, in the settings to hide them. To do this:
- Click on Settings in the top left corner:
- Navigate to “Templates”
- Scroll down to “Grid templates” and tap on “Details”
- Uncheck the box in the “Coverage Standards” setting
- Note: This hides all your Coverage templates you have laid out on the map. If you want to turn them on again, navigate through the previous steps and click the blank box next to the Coverage Standard, to enable them.
Q: Can I turn the pump off when my robot is scanning the field?
A: In Advanced Editing, adjust the settings to ensure the robot does not spray while scanning. By default, your pattern will appear in yellow on the screen. Change these lines to pink, which indicates that the pump is disabled and the robot pump will not start.
How to:
- Click on the Field
- Navigate to “Modify” > “Edit” > “Advanced”
- Make sure to tap each line individually and continue tapping it until it turns pink, confirming that it has been converted into a robot path
This ensures that the robot will not spray paint while scanning the field. - Click on “OK” to confirm
- All of the field lines should now appear in pink
Q: Can I use the Robot in between scanning the Field and uploading the Data?
A: Yes, you can continue to use your robot but don’t have the robot turned on for more than 4 hours between the scan and your booked time for getting the files handed over to TMR. You can still paint and operate the robot within these 4 hours.
Q: Should the robot scan the field in any specific direction across the field?
A: No, the scanning direction does not matter from a technical perspective. The system can process the data regardless of the path chosen across the field.
Q: Why can’t the robot be on and paint for more than 4 hours after a scan?
A: The robot has a limited amount of internal storage, and when it’s turned on it will save new data. When the storage is full the oldest data will be overwritten by the newest data.
Q: Within how long time can I expect to receive my Sports Field Elevation Report?
A: After the data handover has been completed you can expect to receive your Sports Field Elevation Report within 3 business days. You’ll need to book a time for the data handover on our webpage here: https://tinymobilerobots.com/elevation-mapping/ after you have scanned your field.
Q: What is the cost associated with the elevation map service?

| Country | Price |
| United States | $495 |
