If your robot is painting lines near trees, buildings, or other tall obstacles, these objects can interfere with the GPS signals it receives, affecting the accuracy of the lines.
The Tree Filter is a setting that helps the robot paint straighter lines when working close to trees or similar obstructions. It's especially effective when the robot moves from an open area into an area with obstacles near the line.
Important: Do not use the Tree Filter if there are no obstacles nearby, as this can lead to uneven lines.
How to enable Tree Filter
1. Select the field where you want to activate the Tree Filter.
2. Tap "Modify", then "Edit" and then "Advanced".
3. Tap the lines you want to apply the Tree Filter to until they turn orange. Tap "OK," then "Save".
4. The Tree Filter is now enabled on the orange lines.
Example
The image below shows two lines painted close to trees. The left line was painted with the Tree Filter, while the right line was painted without it. Notice how the line painted with the Tree Filter is much straighter, even though it's closer to the trees.
Other options for better results
All GPS receivers can experience difficulties determining their exact position if parts of the horizon are blocked. Therefore, there is a risk that the tree filter may not resolve all satellite issues in areas close to trees or tall buildings.
If you still experience problems with the tree filter, consider:
- Moving your track slightly away from trees or buildings.
- Allowing the robot to operate at a slower spray speed. See how to adjust the robot's spray speed here.
- Felling or trimming tall trees close to your field.
