There are several reasons why a template might disappear or not be showing. This article will cover the most common cases and provide solutions to the problem.
The template was not saved
- There is a risk that the template was never saved. You can confirm whether the template was never saved by following the first four steps in “How to restore deleted fields”. If your field is not there, then the field was never saved.
The tablet has a poor internet signal
- If the tablet has a poor internet signal, your fields will load slower onto the map.
- The poor internet connection will make it hard for the tablet to connect to the app server, which may cause the template not to show.
- To solve this problem, try to close and reopen the app, and if this does not work, restart the tablet.
How to restore deleted fields:
Deleted templates are recoverable for up to 90 days, allowing you to easily restore any templates that were mistakenly removed. If you want to recreate a field that has been deleted for longer than 90 days, contact support and they might be able to recover the deleted field. 1. Manually navigate to the location where you are missing a field in the app.
Then, go to the settings option in the top left corner.
2. Select 'Help' in the selection menu of the settings on the left side.
3. Scroll down till you see the 'Restore deleted fields' button, in the help section. Tap 'Restore deleted fields'.
4. This will take you to another page where you will find your deleted field.
5. Select the field you want to restore by tapping on it. The field you have selected will turn yellow. Tap the 'Restore' button located at the bottom of your screen.
6. Press 'Done' at the bottom of the screen.
7. The field is now restored.
The template group containing the template has been hidden.
There is a settings menu for hiding specific template groups, which may have been hidden at another point in time.
1. Navigate to the settings page using the gear icon in the top left corner.
2. Navigate to the templates menu located within the settings page.
3. Make sure that the associated template group is checked. This will make all template types for this group visible.
The template is not being displayed.
Sometimes the template is still present, but the app doesn’t display it.
This can be due to an excessive number of templates.
- You may need to hide template groups or remove unnecessary templates to reduce the load on the app.
In rarer cases, the tablet may be unable to connect to the cloud server where the templates are stored.
- If this happens, you can restart the tablet by pressing and holding the power button until a new screen appears. Press the 'Restart' button twice.
The template has been moved to another customer account.
In rare situations, a template may have been transferred to another customer account for a variety of reasons.
